The motive behind setting up such a company is to preserve the unique Tibetan music and songs that we have in exile. Promoting the singers has been always a foremost aim of this very music production company.

Over a period of time, there have been campaigns and concerns from various organizations and people, that the unique and original Tibetan songs and music are being adulterated by the Chinese in order to justify their claim on the occupation of Tibet . Many campaigns and publicity by the Chinese through CDs and audio, video films has been published and released to mislead our younger generation and the world about the authenticity of the Tibetan culture.

I believe that the preservation of Tibetan culture, customs and tradition is the key issue in retaining our national identity.

It is in this spirit that GONPO ENTERTAINMENT took the initiative of organizing the Tibetan Music Festival – 2004 and 2005, both at Bylakuppe Tibetan settlement. Both the Music festivals were held during Tibetan New Year-Losar.

Music is perhaps one of the best ways to spread love, unity and peace.
